As announced earlier, YouTube is going ahead with its plan to launch a long awaited music-subscription service. With this launch, YouTube subscribers are likely to miss watching some of the popular labels and their videos as these labels are disagreeing with the terms laid down by YouTube whilst many major and independent music labels have agreed upon.

This means artists like Adele, the Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead will no longer be on YouTube along with world’s favourite indie musicians since Google has confirmed that it will not give any space for independent music labels that refuse to sign its new terms for its paid music subscription.

On the other hand, according to a news release issued by the Worldwide Independent Music Industry Network the deals the company is offering are highly unfavorable and on non negotiable terms. The move comes after a breakdown of talks between YouTube and the independent music trade organization.

YouTube’s paid music service will require subscribers to pay a few dollars on a monthly basis in order to enjoy unlimited music videos which will be aired ads-free. Through this paid service, YouTube, biggest online source of free streaming music service will compete directly with other subscription services.

A YouTube official in a statement had confirmed that they are adding subscription-based features for music on YouTube with an intention to bring the music partners new revenue streams in addition to the hundreds of millions of dollars YouTube already generates for them each year.
