The #100sareepact is a special pact wherein as a member you are supposed to wear sarees 100 times before the end of 2015 and share your image across your social network and tag your phone with #100sareepact along with a story related to the saree.

Exciting about wearing a saree?? Well here is your ticket to sport those fancy saree and bring out your favorite ones from the closet. So – the tantalizing blue crepe silk saree you wore on your first date, the stiff cotton ebony saree you wore for your final round of interview at your current workplace or the bling saree which was your first of sorts, the yellow kanjeevaram silk presented by your hubby as the gift of love or the saree you gifted yourself on completing your graduation …Yes, so many moments and memories to relate too.

Feel free to express your feelings, nostalgic memories, current feelings, even the efforts in making/purchasing the saree can be mentioned and much more associated with the saree. You could even submit your saree story on their website #100sareepact.

How to join the #100sareepact?

Simple, just drape the saree you feel like wearing and click your picture on the phone. It does not matter if you do not have the matching blouse or right accessories to go with it. Click a picture and simply post it on your FB timeline with Hashtag #100sareepact, Anju Maudgal Kadam and Ally Matthan who have devised the pact. (Their story follows later on)

Most of Indian women have a closet full of sarees, which are waiting to be worn, appreciated and even photographed (selfies, we mean). For some, these sarees could bring back wonderful memories associated with their past while for some it is way to get dressed-up, feel glamorous and flaunt their fashion.

How the #100sareepact was born?

A conversation between two friends Anju Maudgal Kadam and Ally Matthan gave birth to #100sareepact, each of them promised to wear sarees a 100 times before the year 2015 passed out. And as you must have guessed it right, the discussion was on sarees.

Both Anju and Ally have accomplished women in their respective fields while sharing their love for sarees. As a founder and director of WebTV.in, Anju is a filmmaker and communication consultant. She is the Ambassador for Pinkathon, a dedicated women run in India and also mentors the Sheroes platform which encourages women to work.

Ally Matthan is perfumer and heads two brands viz. Areev specializing in bath and skincare products and a range of fragrances under her own name. A family person who loves dogs, shoes, arts and crafts along with exercising, Ally promises a textile trail each year.
