With movies like Jungle Book and Fan, April 2016 seemed to be a perfect treat for movie-lovers. If you are an SRK fan, you definitely would not have missed out on Fan. And of course, many of us had a ride down the memory lane with ‘The Jungle Book’ hitting the silver screen. Oh, what a fabulous month it was.

But, hey! The honeymoon period is not over yet. A bunch of exciting films is set to release this Month too. So, all you movie buffs out there, get set for another amazing month packed with a bunch of awesome movies, from both Bollywood and Hollywood.

1. Azhar I Hindi I 13th May

This movie has been highly talked about ever since the first teaser was released on YouTube, almost a year ago.

Directed by Tony D’Souza, the film revolves around the life of former Indian Cricket Captain Mohammad Azharuddin and is scheduled to release on 13th May. From his modest beginning, his stardom in the world of cricket and the match-fixing accusation, the movie highlights it all. Emraan Hashmi plays the lead alongside Prachi Desai and Nargis Fakhri. The movie will also feature Lara Dutta, Gautam Gulati, and Huma Qureshi.

2. Sarbjit I Hindi I 20th May

May seems to be the month of biopics. Set to hit theatres on the 20th of May, here is another one based on the life of Sarbjit, an Indian national who was convicted of spying by Pakistan. Featuring as the lead is Randeep Hooda with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing his sister Dalbir Kaur. Both Randeep and Aishwarya have done a tremendous job and look effortlessly convincing. The story seems to be quite different from the cross-border movies we are accustomed to watching. You got to watch this one for sure!

3. Waiting I Hindi I 27th May

If action, thriller, and mainstream love stories are not your thing, ‘Waiting’ is a movie that’s definitely worth waiting for. Releasing on 27th May, this Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin starrer showcase a unique relationship between the 2 lead characters – Shiv and Tara, who unexpectedly befriend each other in a hospital while nursing their respective spouses. This movie puts forth a very powerful message of how one can stay optimistic even in times of grief and learn to be courageous.

4. Captain America: Civil War I English I 6th May

Moving on to Hollywood now, we have Captain America: Civil War, a sequel to the 2014-release Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Hitting theatres in India on 6th May, the movie will feature Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey Jr.

The last superhero movie you watched must have probably been Deadpool. Here’s another one that should top your ‘To-watch’ list. Well, this one may not make you go all ‘ha ha ha’ like Deadpool did, but will surely get the Adrenaline pumping.

5. X-Men: Apocalypse I English I 20th May

Another superhero movie makes its way to the silver screen this month. Releasing on 20th May, X-Men: Apocalypse is a sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past, and is based on the X-Men characters from the Marvel Comics. The movie is centred on the character ‘Apocalypse’ who awakens from a hibernation that lasted thousands of years. He is disgusted to see the state at which the world has come to and plans to change it all. What follows next is surely going to be adventurous.

That’s definitely not a complete list of upcoming movies. However, the ones mentioned here are those that are being highly talked about. You may probably be too busy to watch them all, but spending a weekend with your family or friends, watching at least one of these is surely recommended.
