Sailfish phone by Jolla to be available in the Indian markets

Jolla is all set to launch its first sailfish OS phone in Indian market by next month as per their corporate announcement. This Finnish smartphone maker has entered into partnership with Indian e-commerce website Snapdeal to sell their phone online exclusively.

Starting next month all the people wanting to own this Sailfish phone, can buy exclusively from Snapdeal website at a price of Rs 28,000 (349 Euro). . Sami Pienimaki, co-founder of Jolla said that the company is looking forward to witness the fan-ship for Jolla across the country.

The phone will have a 4.5 inch display and will sport 8 megapixel camera. Powered by a dual core processor, the phone will have a 16GB of onboard storage. The distinct feature of this phone is its button-less design This phone will be compatible with Android apps as well, so apart from having the Sailfish apps, the phone will also have Android apps.

Jolla is a Finnish company is formed by former employees of Nokia. These former employees have incorporated the technology which has been ditched by Nokia. Jolly Ltd. uses MeeGo software that is created by Nokia and Intel. Being a button-less phone, the phone uses gestures of the users to navigate.

Jolla phones went on sale across Europe last December and the company has targeted China right from its inception in 2011, while India with the population of 1.2 billion is also in key focus.
