Sachin Tendulkar: When you remember of cricket the name that first comes to your mind is the name of Sachin Tendulkar. The popularity that Sachin has gained is never to be faded. Sachin himself also does not want that to happen. This is the reason behind his interest in a great career even after his retirement. He today owns two restaurants named ‘Tendulkar’s’ in Colaba, Mumbai and another Sachin’s in Mulund, Mumbai in partnership with Sanjay Narang of Mars Restaurants. He has also announced a JV with the Manipal Group and Future Group to launch a healthcare and sports fitness goods under the name S Drive and Sach. Sachin also co-owns a team in the Indian Super League Football whose name is the Kochi ISL team. He also jointly owns a badminton team known as the Bengaluru Blasters named after his nickname ‘Master Blaster’.

Rahul Dravid: One of the heartthrobs of Indian cricket was Rahul Dravid. He had a very smooth sports career which he played with full galore and even after retirement he maintained his sportsman spirit and joined the GoSports Foundation in 2014 as a member of their board of advisors. He is today the guide to many young and upcoming sports stars to be India’s future Olympians and Paralympians as an initiative of the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Program in collaboration with GoSports Foundation, . Sourav Ganguly: The God of the Off-side, Sourav Ganguly is one of the most prominent figures not only in India but also in the world cricket. The legendary player today leads a more honored life after retirement as well. Ganguly is one of the four members of the Indian Premier League’s Governing Council which stands responsible for the entire functions of the tournament. Side by side of being the member of the technical committee of the IPL T20 he is also the proud captain of the team Kolkata Knight Riders. Not only in the sports world, Sourav Ganguly has marked his caliber even on the small screen with his very popular and super hit TV reality show ‘Dadagiri’ that comes up in the ZEE TV which has won hearts since last 7 years. He also began his four storey restaurants named Sourav’s seven years back.

VVS Laxman: One of the most humble and noble personalities in the cricket world is VVS Laxman. The after retirement life of this magic player is even more interesting and busier than it was before. He and his wife today run a foundation named VVS Foundation which was build to support the education of unprivileged children and today they proudly support 90 children apart from 2 IIT students. They also support schools in Bangalore and Hyderabad and also provide a scholarship to exceptional students. Besides this after retirement Laxman as taken up roles like cricket commentator, the member of the Advisory Committee of the BCCI, batting consultant to Bengal’s senior team and also as a Columnist. Apart from this he also runs a cricket academy and school with the support of his wife Sailaja.

Ravi Shastri: The 54 years old Indian cricketer Sri Ravishankar Jayadrutha Shastri commonly known as Ravi Shastri was a very popular personality in Indian cricket and even today he rules the Cricket Commentary box for every game. You would not be surprised to hear the manliest and voluminous voice giving a detailed and unbiased description with very minute detailing of the match even today. In 2014 he also became the Director of the Indian Cricket Team for about eight months. He also collaborated in the starting up of a celebrity management company known as the ‘Showdiff Worldwide in 2003. Though temporarily, he also coached the Indian Cricket Team for their Bangladesh Tour in 2007.

Kapil Dev: A man with unlimited skills, Kapil Dev retired from his sports life in the year 1994. The legendary cricket player did not sit back and spend a leisure retired life but engaged himself completely in different ways. Just in the year 1999, he became the coach of the Indian national cricket team succeeding Angshuman Gaekwad. Kapil today owns the Captain’s Eleven restaurant in two places Chandigarh and Patna and is also the owner of Kaptain’s Retreat hotel in Chandigarh. His cameo appearance in various films like Dillagi…Yeh Dillagi, Chain Khuli Ki Main Khuli, Iqbal and much more is also unforgettable. He also established the Dev Musco Lighting Pvt. Ltd. company in partnership with Musco lighting to install floodlights in major sports venues and different stadiums all over India.

Navjot Singh Siddhu: A very common face today in Indian Television is Navjot Singh Siddhu. Many laughter shows feature him as a judge today and his post-retirement life from cricket has become even more fruitful today. Afer his retirement from the cricket world in 1999, he started his career as cricket commentator with ESPN-Star. His career took a new turn when he was featured as the judge in the TV show ‘Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. After this, he also started to appear in a number of similar programs on TV and earned excellence all over the country. He is today a prominent figure on the small screen and found entertaining every viewer with his great one-liners in various shows like ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.

Sunil Gavaskar: Sunil Gavaskar long back in 1985 though differently and opened the India’s first sports management company. He being a sportsman was smart enough to keep the company updated with the latest trends and thus it lasted longer and remained to embellish the sports aspect of the common Indians. We also get the excellent cricket commentaries by Gavaskar in many of the games may it be domestic or international.

Salil Ankola: A very common face more on TV than in Cricket world is the face of Salil Ankol. His very crisp casket career ended when he was detected with a bone tumor in his left shin. He very smartly shifted his career to the Bollywood and is now found in much serial and soaps popular all over the country. A few Hindi films have also cast him for his performance on the silver screen. To name a few of his outstanding performance we may name Kurukshetra, Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Shhh….Koi Hai, Karam Apna Apna. He is also seen in a prominent role in the Zee TV featured soap named Fear Files where his excellent anchoring of the show has won millions of hearts in a small period of time.
