TR: Your vanity case has…
RB: A sun block bb cream, lip gloss and perfume for sure!
TR: How often do you upgrade your closet?
RB: Every season, no other way!
TR: Do you follow trends or like to break rules with your own take on them?
RB: My work is greatly influenced by my personal state-of- mind. I design to satisfy myself; I love taking risk and like to follow my own chosen path. I try to be a perfectionist and aim at achieving the impossible always.
TR: Which cities according to you are the fashion capitals of the worlds and why?
RB: New York, London and Paris
New York does everything bigger, and that includes fashion week. The sheer amount of shows, presentations and event is mind-boggling. To be honest, Paris is dictating everything in fashion at the moment, “Absolutely Everything”! Despite my personal afflictions, I love beautiful things which ultimately lead to a beautifully successful business. You cannot beat Paris for both.
TR: One designer label that has been essential part of your closet over the years and why?
RB: Hermes, Gaultier, YSL
TR: Unforgiveable fashion faux pas…
RB: Running shoes meant for the gym, are worn with formal trousers.
TR: Do you share a penchant for accessories?
RB: I accessorise according to the outfit. For me; bags, hats, jewellery, shoes, and watches are a must. They complete a look, and it is very important to choose the right footwear, so that they do not kill overall look. Also the kind of bag you carry for the day and night speaks volume about your style.
TR: Any style tip you’d like to share?
RB: Avoid listening to one and all. Try to figure it out on your own because only you know what works best for you. With regards to upcoming fashion, every trend need not work on your favour. Just because something is ‘in’, does not mean it will look good on you. This common sense approach to fashion saves time, money and embarrassment.
