Pie! Even the Mathematics haters love this pie, because the only calculation involved here is how soon you can lap it all up. However, in Indian pie is not a very easily available dessert in the bakeries. This doesn’t mean that you don’t enjoy the yummness of this tempting sweet dish. Right from preparing pie crust at home to making yummy cheesy pies is now possible in a short time.
Before we get started, always remember to use cold water only when working to make a pie. You shall prepare and refrigerate till 2 months for ready-to-use, but make sure it is well-wrapped before you store.

Mix flour and salt in a medium size bowl. Add vegetable shortening using a pastry blender until mixture turns crumbly. In between sprinkle water and blend until mixture holds together.
Prepare the dough into a soft ball and roll it out on a lightly floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness.
Line this pie plate with aluminium foil and weight it down with dry beans or something so that the bottom doesn’t get puff. Crimp the edge of the pie as desired.
Bake for 10 minutes and remove the beans and again bake for 10-15 minutes until it turns golden. Remove and leave it to cool completely before filling.
