After leading the mobile market with smartphones and tablets, Samsung has now ventured into wearable devices. The new second generation of wearable from Samsung’s ‘Gear’ series consists of the Gear Fit, Gear 2 and the Gear 2 Neo. The Gear Fit is aimed at the niche market specifically for the health-conscious consumers while the other two are for the high-end consumers.
Intended for the health buffs, the Samsung Gear Fit sports a 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED display with 432×128 screen resolution and a touch-screen. The sensor on the smartwatch also has accelerometer, gyroscope and heart rate sensor. The device also features a pedometer, exercise meter, heart rate monitor and can track sleep.
The device is connected with Bluetooth 4.0 and is IP67 certification for resisting water and dust. The dimension of the device is 23.4 x 57.4 x 11.95 mm and it weighs 27g. Fitted with a standard 210mAh battery which offers three-four days of battery life, the Samsung Gear Fit can be conveniently used to stay connected while on a fitness routine.
