Launched yesterday in the Indian Market at the price of Rs 47,990 LG’s G3 is termed to be the best flagship Android Phone in the market currently. Verdict is that G3 is was worth the wait. The world’s biggest android smartphone makers such as Samsung, HTC and Sony had already unvield their 2014 models while LG was waiting to throw us a surprise.
Though G3 has similar design features to its predecessor G2, this time around LG decided to come with with unique placement for the Volume Rocker and Lock Button. These buttons are placed on the back of the phone. This might cause a few problems to the users. However, G3 seems to be the best looking Android device currently.
LG is done with the glossy plastic finish that G2 sported. G3 comes with an elegant Faux-Metal finish with a slighly curved back. The handset is primarily made of plastic and it would be unfair to expect wonders of the metallic touch otherwise.
The stunning Quad HD screen is 5.5 inch long with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels with the density of 534 ppi. The curves may make it look smaller but G3’s screen is currently the largest amongst its competitors.
The ‘flat UI’ corroborates the look and feel of the handset. G3 has an appealing UI that boasts an elegant color scheme through the menus, icons and toggle switches.
G3 runs Android 4.4, and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC having 4 CPU cores that run at 2.5 Ghz. There are two variants of G3 available in the market. One with a 2GB RAM and 16 GB Internal storage. The other with a 3GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. G3 is one of the few handsets in India to support 4G LTE with a quad band of 3G and 2G, and of course it is rich with WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, GLONASS, USB OTG and wireless charging.
The13 MP camera comes with Optical Image Stabilization. G3 is the first smart-phone to be equipped with laser-assisted auto-focus mechanism. The technology is similar to how SONAR (Sound Navigation and Ranging) works. Hands down, G3 has the best 13 MP camera in the market.
All in all G3 is right up there with the Android heavy-weights and is sure to sustain in the market.
