1. Roti Noodles

Not just kids, even adults love noodles; and when you can prepare noodles with whole wheat chapatis, there’s nothing like it!


Roti noodle ingredients
  • Leftover roti – 4

  • Sesame oil – 1 tsp.

  • Chopped garlic – 1 tsp

  • Onion – 1 (cut lengthwise)

  • Carrot – ½ (cut lengthwise)

  • Green pepper – 1 (cut lengthwise)

  • Cabbage – ¼ (Shredded lengthwise)

  • Tomato ketchup – 1 tsp.

  • Red chilli sauce – 1 tsp.

  • Soy Sauce – ½ tsp.

  • Lemon juice – ½ tsp.

  • Black pepper – ½ tsp.

  • Salt


  • Take the chapatis and layer them on each other and roll tightly

  • Now using a sharp knife, start cutting thin strips and carefully separate them

  • Heat a pan and add sesame oil

  • Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, follow this with onion and sauté for a minute

  • Now add carrot and cabbage and cook for about 2 minutes

  • Now add capsicum, tomato ketchup, lemon juice, soy sauce, black pepper, and salt

  • Mix everything well and cook for a minute

  • Now add the chapatti noodles to the pan and mix carefully

  • Let it cook for just a couple of minutes (ensure that the chapatti does not get soggy)

  • Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot

2. Roti Upma

Everyone loves Upma for a weekend breakfast, and when prepared with healthy whole wheat roti, it would be a perfect blend of health and taste, isn’t it?


Chapatti upma ingredients
  • Roti – 4

  • Peanuts – 2 tbsp.

  • Sesame Seeds – 2 tsp.

  • Cumin Seeds – ¼ tsp.

  • Mustard Seeds – ¼ tsp.

  • Green Chilli – 2 (Finely chopped)

  • Onion – 1 (Finely chopped)

  • Capsicum – ¼ (chopped)

  • Green Peas – 3 tbsp.

  • Lemon – Half

  • Coriander Leaves

  • Salt

  • Oil


  • Place the chapatis over each other and cut them into small pieces

  • Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds

  • Once they start to sputter, add green chillies and onion and sauté it for a couple of minutes

  • Now add peanuts and sesame seeds to the pan and roast till golden brown

  • Now add green peas and capsicum and cook for a minute

  • Follow capsicum with the rotis and mix well

  • If required, sprinkle a little water and sauté on a low flame for some time

  • Switch off the flame and add lemon juice

  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot
