Sumita Chakraborty picks some scintillating fashion trends seen at the event.
February paved the way for the most fashionable event of the year – The Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2017. And indeed, it was a starry event – especially when the gorgeous stars from Tinsel Town melded with the fashion who’s who of the style circuit, to witness the biggest fashion event of 2017 unfold.
…Saw some amazing style trends that included summer hues, innovative fashion to metallic inspirations:
– Eka by Rina Singh brought in a waft of the summer breeze with her pretty pastel hues. Her collection was feminine and chic with lace inlays and delicate cross-stitch.
– Lakmé Salon and AM.IT by Amit Aggarwal’s ‘Seamless’ reused waste materials. An added dramatic element was metallic tones. Hues that stood out in his collection were deep, distressed and passionate – from dark wine, teal and brown, olive green, rural khadi, mustard yellow and deep blue.
…Had incredible crafts and themes.
The theme was reuse, and AJIO.com’s ‘Sustainable Indigo Man’ had Aneeth Arora’s “The Forbidden Garden’, David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore’s ‘Dandy March’ and Rajesh Pratap Singh’s recycled line. Quite a huge statement it made!
…Was a medley of colour and weaves.
Ritu Kumar, obviously, the most awaited designer unveiled the palette happy “Maharaja Pop” collection. ‘Befikre’ gal Vaani Kapoor strutted her stuff for ‘Ritu Kumar’ in a snazzy black biker jacket teamed with a maxi skirt and sheer net body suit.
A kaleidoscopic blend of hues and embroidery worked it’s magic on Day 4.
Marked chic, stylish yet edgy style.
The Lakmé Fashion Week Summer Resort 2017 ended on a glitzy note with fashion maestro Anita Dongre showing off the beauty of Lakmé‘s ‘Liquid Gold’ through her creations.
