Water is the ultimate tonic for the body. It replenishes and rejuvenates the body like no other drink. Regular intake of water is suggested for youthful and hydrated skin. In fact, a minimum of 8-10 glasses of water is recommended by doctors to enjoy a good health as well as flush out all of toxins from the body.

Since 70% of our body composition is made up of water, it is critical to consume clean drinking water to ensure the smooth functioning of the body. Water is so essential for living that human body can survive a couple of days without food but not without water. In fact, maintaining the right level of water percentage in the body can dramatically improve your overall health.

There is no best time like right now, to revel in the blessings of delicious and luscious fruit juices. Water melon martinis, litchi lavazza and electric lemon are some of the juices you must gorge on to keep the adequate water level in the body. These days, markets are also flooded with concoction of cooling herbs like goose berries and aloe-vera.

Having electrol or glucose handy

Maximum people suffer dehydration in summer due to loss of important salts in the body. Even when you are not working in the sun, there are chances that you could be dehydrated. So, ensure that you keep a bottle of electrol or glucose handy. Nutrition experts advise that in summers you must have sweet-salty lemonades at regular intervals.

Regular intake of fruit

The diet we consume on a daily basis can also affect our health in positive ways. In summers, it is advisable to gorge on fruits that replenish the lost water content in the body as well add a nice glow to the face. Watermelons, kiwis and litchis etc are summer fruits and must be consumed at least once in a day.

Avoid eating already cut fruits from road side. Always remember the golden rule to good heath in summers is eating fresh. Also, ensure that you consume fruits an hour before the main meal.

Healthy veggies

Veggies are a great way to keep cool and well-hydrated in summers. They also help balance the pH activity in the body and neutralize the excess acid production. Consuming 2-3 servings of freshly cooked or raw vegetables is recommended for a good and healthy working body.

In summers especially, salads prepared with cucumber, spring onions, tomatoes, and carrots is highly suggested. This along with sprouted lentils is also good for the body as they provide much needed energy to the body in hot summer months.

As much as possible, one must avoid eating stale food in summers and that includes last night leftovers as well. In fact, they do more harm to the body than good. Fresh food will keep your body as well as mind happy.

Skin care

Your skin needs special attention in summers as the harsh climatic conditions can take a toll on your skin. Try to wash your face at least 3-4 times in summers to keep looking fresh and glowing. Use a mild face wash to clean your face whenever you come from outside. Also, apply a good sunscreen lotion if going out in the sun.

Lastly, learn to love your body the way it is. This will further encourage you to take care of your body, irrespective of the weather.
