Another competition to the smart phone market in India was added today by HTC with its launch of octa-core HTC Desire 820 along with quad-core HTC Desire 820q. Even as pricing of the phone is not yet been revealed, it is confirmed that the phone will be available in market from early November. Desire 816 G- a dual-SIM version of HTC Desire 816 was also launched along with the two smart phones. This phone priced at Rs. 18,990 will hit the market the beginning of October.
HTC Desire 820 was globally unveiled at a pre-IFA 2014 event and the most important specification of this phone is its 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.0GHz quad-core) with integrated 4G LTE Cat. Android 4.4 is used in the dual-SIM HTC Desire 820 besides, HTC Sense UI which is skinned on top, along with it, the phone features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display.
Another highlight of the phone is its 2GB RAM along with the Snapdragon 615. The phone sports a 13-megapixel (with f/2.2 lens) rear facing camera with LED flash and BSI sensor. The front-facing camera is of 8-megapixel. The inbuilt storage of Desire 820 is 16GB and is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. Connectivity features like Wi-Fi, FM radio, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE are also available in these newly launched phones.
