Go Wild with Zebra Print

December 17, 2013 182 0 0

While leopard remains ruler of the fashion jungle, Fall 2013 saw a new animal print reign supreme: Zebra. In a sophisticated nod to the swinging 60s, bold stripes made bold fashion statements at the runway this season. Horizontal and vertical stripes made a big presence on the streets as well as on the red carpet!

Be it on asymmetric, pinstripe or zebra – the stripe has never been out of fashion. But we are especially digging this new incarnation of the classic stripe – banded and brazen, they are as groovy as they are flattering. We also suggest opting for daring lines in unconventional separates like skinny pants, floor length gowns and fitted blazers. If you, too, want to take a walk on the wild side, look to these fierce leaders for inspiration on how to wear zebra prints for fall. We have shortlisted some of the fashionable celebrities in different patterned stripes to help you lead the stripe-revolution.

Deepika Padukone

Flaunt it like Deepika Padukone @TheRoyaleIndia

Deepika was spotted in a striped gown, we love the outfit as it accentuates the right parts of her figure. She went all fashionably wacky in a black and white one-shoulder Naeem Khan gown with lines forming curves and spirals all over and a flower attached at her right shoulder. A huge statement ring, a pair of black peep-toes and a black clutch were her accessories. The red lipstick look was bang on with her funky outfit. Deepika has maintained her look with prominent red lips and swept back hair tied into a pony.

Bipasha Basu

Bips was spotted in a one-shoulder striped dress, the mix of horizontal and diagonal stripes makes the outfit interesting. Bips has kept her lustrous mane open, even her look is kept simple with a satin pink lip colour. The Peter Kaiser peep-toe sandals goes very well with her striped gown. You can add an element or two like a watch or even a bracelet to complete the look.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana was sported a cute striped dress from Lanvin’s resort 2013 collection. She paired her look with Hermès Birkin bag 35 Black Togo bag and Christian Louboutin Pigalle pumps. Pink lips and a twisted knot hairdo completed her look. Smart move, we think! Do you like what she’s wearing?

Sonakshi Sinha

Hail Stripes! Sailor stripes never go out of style. Who said stripes is not for the voluptuous ones? We think, Sonakshi Sinha dons the nautical ensemble to perfection. The actress was seen wearing a full-sleeved navy-white striped jersey tee paired with navy palazzos. A wide scoop-neck with navy piping was the chosen neckline for the tee. The top was tucked in for a smarter effect. Sonakshi went bare with her make-up and accessories. She left her silky strands open and side swept. The eyes were done up with kohl, the mascara was there too! Overall she looks more chic.

Anushka Sharma

Trend maker Anushka Sharma

Anushka looked imposing in a black and white Bebe asymmetric stripe dress. The body-hugging dress formed stripes all over and consisted of a V-neck. The leggy lass looked sexy in it! The dress was short and Anushka combined it with a pair of beige block heels and a chunky watch. Her mid-parted hair was left loose and slightly curled to give a wavy effect. A peach eye shadow was grouped with a satin pink lip colour and neon orange nails. Oodles of mascara and a pretty smile completed her look.

It’s no secret that stripes are a huge trend this season, and we have been spotting them everywhere.  Look elegant and natural to display the zebra-print style that is unique and beautiful.

Be happy and stripy this season!
