In an attempt to expand the Batman series of Dark Knight’s shadowy corner of DCU, DC comics is launching two new titles in October. The first book will be known as Arkham Manor written by Gerry Duggan and drawn by Shawn Crystal. In this series, Wayne Manor will become a terror cell for the crazies of Gotham where inmates lose their lives. Arkham Manor will hit the stores on October 1st.

The second book will be known as Gotham Academy written by Becky Cloonan and Brendan Fletcher while drawn by Karl Kerschi. This book is expected to be liked more by the teens and will be set in Gotham’s most prestigious prep school where Bruce Wayne is a benefactor. It has three characters named ‘Olive Silverlock,’ ‘Maps,’ and ‘Kyle’.

The series promises to feature both new and old characters plus a secret tie to Gotham’s past. This book is expected to hit the stores by October 22. DC comics have also confirmed that there will be 52 series in continuity to these books. For all those comic lovers who have been missing on reading the Batman series, here is the chance again to revive the memories.

So don’t forget to get hold of the copies in October.
