Ever thought a humble hair clip could transform to a crime-fighting gadget for women? Well, a US based couple has designed and developed a sensor based hair clips that works with a mobile app.
The contraption comes with an accelerometer, which detect strikes to the head and uses Bluetooth to send signals to call for help and record evidences to aid in prosecution. The gadget is believed to record details like location where the victim has been attacked, and also know which emergency responders to reach out for. The Bluetooth enabled hair clip can be worn concealed under the hair or as a fashion accessory in hand-bags or waist-belt for a one-button emergency response. The mobile app easily manages any false alarms and a includes a timer with check in alarm feature. The gadget is expected to be launched early next month.
Where self-defense solutions like pepper-spray and pocket-knife are unrealistic and incomplete. The gadget could possibly deter the violent crimes against women.
