After a lot of suspense and wait, Honda Mobilio MPV is finally open for booking in India. The car that made its debut at Delhi Auto Expo, 2014 had been making all the car lovers wait to get the bookings started.
Last week, Honda released images of Honda Mobilio on its website confirming that the car is ready to hit the roads but people were still confused about the exact launch date in the country.
As per latest reports, the car can be booked at a token of Rs 51,000. While the car dealers in Delhi and Jaipur have already started taking the pre-orders, the car dealers from Mumbai and Pune will start taking the pre-orders in coming days.
Likely to be placed in the price bracket of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8.50 lakh, its specs rest at 4,390 mm in length, 1680 mm in width and 1610 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2650 mm.
Mobilio is Honda’s first offering in the MPV segment in India and will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines in the country. The car will pack 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol motor under the bonnet of petrol model, which can churn out a power of 117bhp, and the diesel variant will come with 98bhp, 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel unit, which powers Honda’s popular City and Amaze.
The engine will come mated to a five-speed manual and CVT gearbox. While the diesel model of MPV Mobilio is expected to deliver 26 kmpl, the petrol version is likely to give 18 kmpl.
The current scene, Mobilio will have to compete with existing models such as Enjoy from Chevrolet, Ertiga from Maruti Suzuki and Evalia offered by Nissan. Will it be able to make it mark in the MPV segment in the Indian automobile market is what we are looking out for!!
