Folks, if you are anything like me, you need your daily dose of caffeine to pull yourself out of bed every morning. In fact, it’s that first whiff and sip of freshly brewed coffee that actually wakes you up.
No matter, how many articles I see telling me to cut down the consumption of coffee, I am more than happy to admit that I am not exactly inclined to give up that cuppa.
Writing off the sceptics comes easy, especially when you consider the slew of beauty benefits that coffee has been hiding all this time on top of being that invigorating drink that help thousands of people wake up every morning.
Here, we’ve rounded up eight ways to incorporate coffee into your beauty routine. Even a tea aficionado will love coffee after this:
In between a hectic office schedule and social commitments, a vast majority of us don’t get enough sleep which often results in puffy eyes. The trick to eliminating the swelling under the eyes is ground coffee. Apply the grounds from your morning pot of coffee to the under eye area and the eyelids. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with cold water.
Not matter how thin we are naturally or how many hours we spend on the treadmill trying to maintain our weight, cellulite is something we all struggle with. A coffee scrub is immensely helpful in minimising cellulite, as the exfoliating quality of coffee and massage work together to help stimulate blood flow and tighten the skin.
Add A Tint Of Coffee To Your Hair:
This hack is only for people with brown hair. Mix one or two teaspoons of ground coffee into a dollop of conditioner and apply it on your hair. Let it sit there for at least five minutes to enhance your brown hair colour and provide you with some grey coverage.
Use It As A Beauty Scrub:
Mix honey with coffee grounds to create a scrub that you can use for your face and body to smoothen your skin and help it glow as well.
Ground coffee makes an awesome scrub for your scalp and imparts incredible shine to your hair. Just wet your hair and massage some ground coffee onto your scalp in circular motions for 60 seconds. Then rinse it off with your usual shampoo and conditioner.
Use Coffee Ice Cubes To Increase Blood Circulation:
Make coffee ice cubes in advance and store them in the refrigerator. Each morning, just take one ice cube and gently rub your eye area as well as along the bone structure of your face. This will not only reduce puffiness under the eyes but also make your skin brighter and healthier.
As A Foot Scrub To Soothe Your Feet:
Blend a cup of virgin coconut oil and 1/2 cup of ground coffee along with one to two teaspoons of vanilla extract. Before applying the scrub, soak your feet in warm soapy water for about 10 minutes. While soaking, apply one teaspoon of the scrub to your feet in a circular motion to not only soothe tired feet but also exfoliate the dead skin as well.
How About Some Antioxidant Properties:
Coffee’s antioxidant qualities, flavonoids, are released when it’s brewed. Antioxidants fight premature ageing of the skin and protect the body from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. So for this particular beauty benefit, make yourself a cup of coffee right away!
