For Audi lovers, who were eagerly waiting for Audi A3 to launch in India, won’t have to wait till August. As per the latest reports, German luxury car maker Audi is all set to drive the A2 sedan to India by mid-July. Audi’s A4, A6, A8 in the passenger car segment, Q3, Q5 and Q7 in the SUV segment and R8, V8 and R8 Spyder in the sports car category are the current portfolio of Audi in India.
Audi 3 will be bought into India through the CKD (Completely Knocked-down Unit) route and will be assembled at their facility at Aurangabad. Its specifics rest at 4460 mm in length, 1800mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2640mm. Customers can opt for either petrol or diesel versions but with slight changes in the engine to make it slightly economical in pricing.
The diesel version of the car is powered by a 2.0-litre TDI engine that can generate 150bhp of power and 320Nm of torque. On the other hand, Audi A3’s petrol model comes with either a 1.4-litre TFSI engine or a 1.8-litre TFSI motor.
The 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine which can churn out 140bhp is fitted in the base variants while the top end models are powered with 1.8-litre TFSI. As per reports received the 1.8-litre TFSI engine is likely to be removed from the Indian variants.
