Apple launched iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 at an Apple special event at Town Hall Theatre in Cupertino. These gadgets will go on sale from next week in 29 countries, while the pre-orders for the devices started from October 17. Since it is iPad Air 2, the design is similar as that of first iPad Air. The iPad Air series follows the design of the iPad mini and not like the wide design of iPad 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The screen size of iPadAir 2 is 9.7-inches with a resolution of 2048×1536 at 264 pixels per inch (ppi). Apple has also introduced an anti-reflective coating on the tablet that will reduce the reflection on the device by 56 percent.
The iPad Air 2 has an A8 64-bit architecture processor along with the M8 motion co-processor. Meanwhile, iPad mini 3 has an A7 processor with M7 motion co-processor. The iPad Air sports an 8 megapixel rear camera along with a front camera at 1.2 megapixels. Features like panoramic shots, shoot time-lapse video, slow-mo video and 1080p HD video can be accessed from iPad Air 2. The camera for iPad mini 3 is same as iPad mini 2.
Both the devices come with Touch ID fingerprint scanner similar to iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The devices will be available in Gold as well as Space Grey and Silver color.
