New Year means everything new and afresh – especially your aspirations and a new you. How about embarking on a beauty regime at home just before the New Year sets in? Check out these DIY beauty tips which will leave you totally rejuvenated without spending a dime or wasting time at those packed beauty parlours across your street. It’s time we ‘Go Natural’ and become the beat of the town this New Year.
Gram Flour and Milk Face Pack – Mix 1 tablespoon of gram flour (Chana aata) and 1 teaspoon of milk and leave on the face for 10 minutes. Wash off with warm water.
This face pack is history; people ages down the line have been using it. Trust me!!
Honey and Yoghurt Face Pack – Mix 1 tablespoon of yoghurt with 1 teaspoon of honey (make sure it is runny). Leave on the face for 15 minutes and rinse. If you have dry skin add extra teaspoon of honey and if you have oily skin add a few drops of fresh lime juice.
A relatively new addition to the chapter on Indian beauty tips, honey nourishes the skin while yoghurt exfoliates the dead cells. P.S. this is one of my favorite face masks.
Turmeric Face Pack – Mix ¼ teaspoon of turmeric powder with 2 tablespoon of gram flour. For extra glow, add yoghurt if you have oily skin or add coconut or hibiscus oil for dry skin. Leave for 15 minutes and then rinse.
Yet another iconic face pack of India – Turmeric is a wonderful remedy to tackle acne and give the skin a glowing look.
Yoghurt and Egg Face Pack – Mix 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon yoghurt. Mixture should be consistent. Apply and leave for 2 minutes and wash well. (It’s basically the egg yolk that is stinky, so don’t worry about the smell.)
Sound stinky? Yes but it works wonderfully, think twice before you discard this facial recipe.
Aloe Vera Face Pack – This would require some careful job of extracting aloe gel from the aloe vera spades without getting hurt by the spines. It is the easiest and requires least effort. After taking out the aloe gel, massage well on the skin and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing. For extra glow add 1 teaspoon of honey.
Time consuming but then aloe is one the best moisturizers available in natural form.
Sugar Face Pack – Mix 1 tablespoon of sugar with 2 tablespoon of warm water and massage on the skin. Make sure that the sugar granules have dissolved well in water. Wash well because this face pack tends to be very sticky.
Sugar exfoliates salt from the pores of your face as well as the glucose present in it moisturizes the skin.
Butter Mask – Melt butter to a semi liquid consistency. Mix 1 tablespoon of the melted butter and 1 tablespoon of sour yoghurt and massage it on skin for 10 minutes.
Using butter on your face will not make you put on calories so, go ahead try it out!! Butter works as an excellent rejuvenator as it contains huge amount of vitamin A which specially works for the skin.
Multani Mitti – Mix one tablespoon of multani mitti and one teaspoon of oil and milk and massage on the skin. Remember to first mix in the milk and then oil. Leave it on the face for 10 minutes before rinsing.
This isn’t an ordinary homemade face pack but one of the best face pack natural face packs of India. Buy a small pack of finely powdered multani mitti from any nearby ayurvedic store and give it a try
P.S. After removing any of the above face packs, don’t forget to apply moisturizer or little oil on your face. Look gorgeous not only at the beginning of the year but for all the coming years. Happy New Year in advance!
