Premium smartphones with the fourth generation telecom technology will soon be launched in India by Samsung. This move is initiated in an attempt to maintain the dominant position of this South Korean Company in Indian market. Vice President of Samsung in India, Mohammas Asim Warsi told ET that as per their observation, the Indian tablet market size is growing by 20% every year.

This 4G LTE tablet will be available in 8.4 inch and 10.5 inch versions and will be priced at Rs 37,800 and Rs 44,800 respectively from the second week of July.

First in India to run on LTE-FDD technology that uses wireless broadband, these tablets allow customers to access high-speed 4G internet services. It will support not only FDDLTE on the 1800 Mhz spectrum band but also TDD-LTE on the 2300 Mhz band, Mr. Warsi confirmed. FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE are two different standards used for 4G services.

Lenevo, Lava and Swipe telecom have also announced plans to bring 4G LTE enabled tablets in India by the year end but since the target audience is different for these telecoms and the sale of Samsung 4G LTE tablets is not expected to be affected.

With the introduction of Samsung 4G tablets users can experience 10 times faster download speed than 3G and smoother video streaming and gaming.
