4 Healthy and Lip-smacking dishes you can try out this winter

The winter has arrived already with its cooling breeze and the chill in the air is almost bearable. (Of course I am talking about Mumbai ;)) Winter makes our appetite go bonkers and our fitness regimes all go for a toss. I am sure am not the only one who experiences this. However, be as it may be, we all would love to indulge in some alluring delightful meals that help us cope with this much-dreaded (for those who are forever on a diet) and much-loved( for all those food junkies) winter. So, the Royale gives you 4 healthy and lip-smacking dishes to much on this winter.

CHICKEN HOT AND SOUR SOUP

INGRIEDENTS:

  • 4-5 pieces of chicken with bones.

  • 1tsp ginger and garlic paste

  • 2tsp soya sauce

  • 1tsp ajinomoto

  • 1tsp red chilli powder

  • 1tsp sugar

  • 2tbsp green chilli sauce

  • 2tbsp tomato sauce

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tsp corn flour powder

  • Salt

  • Water

  • Pepper

  • Spring onions

  • Veggies: carrot, French beans and sweet corn

METHOD:

  • Wash Chicken pieces properly. Take heavy bottomed pan and add water and chicken. Add salt as required, soya sauce, ginger garlic paste and ajinomoto with the veggies. Let it boil till the chicken is tender.

  • Take out the chicken from the stock and shred it. Add more water to the stock if required.

  • Add chilli sauce, tomato sauce, chilli powder and pepper and boil some more.

  • Add shredded chicken and sugar to the soup. In a cup of water add corn flour and mix it properly. Add the mixture to the soup and let the soup get thick. Break an egg on top of the soup and continuously stir it so the egg does not form a lump.

  • Once it is done, switch off the gas and garnish it with spring onions.

  • Serve hot.

This dish includes both the goodness of vitamins of vegetables and protein that you get from the chicken.

CURD AND GARLIC CHICKEN KEBAB

Chicken Kebabs with curd @TheRoyaleIndia

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg boneless chicken

  • 10-12 crushed garlic

  • 100gm fresh cream

  • ½ kg hung curd

  • Salt to taste

  • 4tbsp oregano

METHOD:

  • Wash the boneless chicken and let the water drain.

  • In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with crushed garlic, curd, crème, salt and oregano. Mix well and refrigerate it for two hours.

  • Set the temperature of the oven to200 C and pre-heat it for 15 minutes.

  • In a baking tray, put your marinated chicken and brush it with some oil.

Set the cooking time for 20mins. Serve hot with barbeque sauce.

This dish can add savour in this chilly winter. Since fresh cream and curd is used, the nutritious value of the meal increases.

GRILLED CHICKEN WITH VEGGIES

INGREDIENTS:

  • Chicken full

  • Salt

  • Pepper

  • 2tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2tbsp Soya sauce

  • 1tbsp Garlic paste

  • Honey 2tbsp

  • Chilli flakes

  • Basil leaves

  • Oregano

  • Veggies: French beans, potatoes, carrots and onions’.

METHOD:

  • Pre heat the oven for 15 minutes at 200degree C before cooking.

  • Marinate the chicken with all the ingredients leaving the veggies.

  • Then makes small cubes of carrots, potatoes, onions and French beans. Add it to the marinated chicken and toss it properly.

  • Refrigerate the chicken for about half an hour before cooking.

  • Cook it for 20 minutes in 200c.brush some oil on the chicken and veggies or you can use butter too.

  • Serve hot.

RICE KHEER

Ingredients:

  • 200gms Rice soaked for half an at least.

  • 200gms Sugar

  • 1 ½ litres milk

  • 2 pcs Cardamom

  • 1tbsp Rose water

  • Almonds, kaju and pista sliced roughly a handful.

METHOD:

  • Boil milk in a pan with cardamom.

  • Add soaked rice to the milk and cook it.

  • Once the rice is half cooked, add rose water and sugar.

  • Cook in low flame till the rice is cooked and mixed into the milk. The consistency should be thick.

  • Then, add the dry fruits to it.

Make small bowls and let it cool down before you serve it.
